Only two weeks until 'Arrow' begins the second half on its first season! On December 12, CW gave us "Year's End," the ninth episode of the new hit drama series. On January 16, 'Arrow' returns with "Burned," the tenth episode of the season featuring an appearance by guest star Andrew Dunbar ('SGU Stargate Universe') as Firefly. CW released the first photos of the character earlier today:

Primarily an antagonist of Batman, Robin and Nightwing in DC Comics, Firefly is making the leap to live action television for the first time on 'Arrow.' Firefly, who's real name is Garfield Lynns, is a homicidal pyromaniac hell bent on burning down populated spaces--particularly sites of revelry and social enjoyment. Sounds like Oliver Queen would make a pretty tempting target for ol' Garfield.

In keeping with the mythos of the series, 'Arrow' is taking Firefly out of his costumed roots and making him a much more believable (and frightening) villain. Given that Firefly possesses no otherworldly powers or abilities in the comic books, the character makes a good fit with the realistic Starling City setting of the CW action drama, possibly explaining why a long-time Bat-villain has been transplanted into Oliver Queen's story.

As the promotional photos show, Firefly is going to confront Oliver Queen himself as well as his hooded alter ego.

'Arrow' stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.
The series returns on January 16 on CW.
Looks pretty cool. I feel like I should check this series out.
