Comedy Central is rewarding its “Workaholics.”

During the Televison Critics Association winter press tour, the network announced its pickup of the fourth and fifth seasons of the comedy. It also announced an order for a series based on Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s web series “Drunk History.”
“Workaholics” pulled an average 2 million viewers during its summer run and proved a winner amoung young males, and will produce 26 additional episodes with the pickup.
“Workaholics” stars Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine and Anders Holm, who also write the series about college drop outs who work in telemarketing. Kevin Etten is the series’ showrunner.
Comedy Central first ordered a pilot presentation for “Drunk History” last summer, and now it will be a weekly half- hour program. Ferrell, McKay, Chris Henchy and Owen Burke will exec produce, along with creator and star Derek Waters, and Jeremy Konner (writer/ director). The series is from Gary Sanchez Productions.
Jack Black, Zooey Deschanel, Jim Carrey, Michael Cera and others have appeared in the popular web series, reenacting historical events as told by drunk narrators.
“Workaholics” will return with new episodes Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 10 p.m. “Drunk History” will debut this summer.
