If I could turn back time….it seems Cher has found a way!
The singer, actress, television host and gay icon Cher is returning to television. Logo, an American cable-television channel geared towards the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community has inked a development deal with Cher to star in a new scripted series. Brent Zacky, the senior vice president of original programming and development for Logo, is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Cher. “It doesn’t get any more iconic than Cher,” Zacky told reporters.
The new series will be set in Hollywood in the 1960’s and is written by comic and writer Ron Zimmerman. Zimmerman’s track record most recently includes serving as a consulting producer on the Disney Channel series “Shake It Up”, and he has also worked as a co-executive producer on both “Action” and “The Michael Richards Show”.
Cher has been out of the spotlight for the past few years, with her most recent acting credits coming from “Zookeeper” in 2011 and her musical movie “Burlesque” in 2010. Of course, Cher is very familiar with working on television, having co-hosted “The Sonny and Cher Show” with ex-husband Sonny Bono in the 1970’s, and her film acting career includes a total of eighteen titles.
Are you a fan of Cher’s acting? Are you looking forward to hearing more about Logo’s new series?
