Olympic swimming champ Ryan Lochte is poised to dive into the muddy waters of reality television.
The E! network announced today that it has agreed to a six episode reality series entitled "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" The series will revolve around the athlete's endeavors to train for competition at the 2016 Rio Olympics while also dealing with a fledgling fashion line business, media appearances, family and friends, and looking for love. The show will also feature his outspoken family, including his mother, Ike, his older married sisters Kristen and Megan, his younger brother/roommate Devon, and his nephews.
Since winning two gold medals and five overall at the London Olympics, the swimmer has taken advantage of his celebrity, making guest appearances on the CW's "90210" and NBC's "30 Rock" (while also being the target of a rather accurate impersonation by Seth MacFarlane on "Saturday Night Live").
"Ryan Lochte captured everyone's attention at the Summer Olympics with his athletic prowess and his utterly unique and unaffected approach to life," E! Entertainment President Suzanne Kolb said. "He is an incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining and fun. Watching this show, I believe people will fall into three categories: they want to be him, sleep with him or mother him."
Ah, that old game. So, readers, Ryan Lochte: be, sleep with, or mother?
