The seventh season of the hit Lifetime series 'Army Wives' just added a couple of husbands.
Last month, TVRage reported that the series had added three new female cast members for the highly anticipated new season, including Ashanti. Continuing the cast revamp, Burgess Jenkins ('One Tree Hill,' 'The Reaping') and Joshua Henry ('Nip/Tuck') have each been awarded recurring roles on 'Army Wives,' with the option to be promoted to main characters should the series be renewed for season eight.
Jenkins will play Staff Seargent Eddie Hall, husband of Maggie, who is played by Torrey Devitto. The pair have previously both appeared on 'One Tree Hill,' with 'Army Wives' now providing a reunion of sorts for the actors. Some astute fans may also recognize Jenkins from two 'Army Wives' episodes where he portrayed Major Kurt Dandridge; the series is reusing the actor in a different role for the seventh season.
Joshua Henry will play the role of Quincy, husband of Latasha, who is being played by Ashanti. Henry has a single guest appearance on 'Nip/Tuck' to his credit and this recurring role on 'Army Wives' is by far his largest role to date.
Some of these 'Army Wives' casting moves are motivated by the fact that the long-running series with a very loyal fanbase is losing series regular Kim Delaney (who played Claudia on the show).
Claudia Joy Holden, Kim Delaney's character on the show, did not appear in the last few episodes of the sixth season of 'Army Wives;' there is seemingly a grim ending to her storyline in store when season seven begins.
