CNN settles with "vodka mom" family

Who here likes Nancy Grace? I am not going to slam her - in fact, I have mixed feelings about the woman. I can understand where many people do not care for her, but I generally like her point of view. But I wonder when CNN is going to reach the tipping point with her and let her go. She seems to be a lightning rod of criticism.

Grace's comments towards Toni Medrano have gotten her and CNN in a lot of hot water. Grace mocked Medrano last summer, to the extent that Medrano killed herself. Medrano's family filed a lawsuit against Grace, which was settled earlier this week, with terms of the deal not being disclosed.

Grace called Medrano "vodka mom" after she allegedly passed out in November of 2011 after downing a bottle of vodka. The passed-out Medrano smothered her three-week-old child in the process. Grace pushed for Medrano to be charged with first-degree murder and visibly demonstrated how much vodka Medrano drank by pouring shots to make her point.

The ridicule is part of what led Medrano to light herself on fire and take her life. Medrano was 29.

"She got depressed and said life wasn't worth living," her sister said. "She said she couldn't live with herself."

Should Grace have toned down her rhetoric?
