Dave Foley should be a much bigger star than he is. The comedian was arguably the most successful alum of 'The Kids in the Hall,' using that gig as a spring board into the position he is most famous for, 'Newsradio.' If not for the unfortunate and untimely death of Phil Hartman, who knows how long that show would have run for and the heights it might have achieved. Even with its short lifespan, Entertainment Weekly named it one of its "New TV Classics".
Since 'Newsradio,' Foley has worked pretty consistently, if at a lower level. Now Canadian station CTV is bringing him back to the forefront, as he will be staring in a new series for the network called 'Spun Out.'
The show will focus on Foley playing the boss of a public relations firm that does really well with dealing with outsider's problems, but struggles to manage those of its internal family.
Paul Campbell, who appeared on 'Battlestar Galactica,' will be playing a writer who join the PR firm after suffering through his own PR incident. Other cast members include Holly Deveaux, Al Mukadam, Rebecca Dalton, J.P. Manoux and Jadyn Wong.
I hope the show does well for Foley, and that us Americans are lucky enough to have some channel bring it on our side of the border.
