“Nashville” returned Wednesday night with lots of goings- on continued from last year.
The show opens with Rayna (Connie Britton) waiting at the recording studio for Juliette (Hayden Panettiere), who it turns out just married her football beau Shaun Butler and deflowered him. Since their duet “Wrong Song” is a smash, the two divas are preparing to tour ASAP.
Juliette takes off for the tour before having the wedding ceremony Shaun’s family wants.
Avery (Jonathan Jackson) is still hanging out with record producer Dominick King (Wyclef Jean). He dumps his band to go solo, and says his goodbyes to Scarlet (Clare Bowen), which of course gets passionate .Scarlet gets mad when she finds out he dumped his band, which she ends up fronting.
Deacon (Charles Esten) is chummy with a journalist from his past who is covering the band, while receiving constant criticism from said band.
In the course of discussions between Teddy (Eric Close) and Lamar Wyatt (Powers Boothe), we find out one of their daughters has a different father. Rayna and Teddy decide the tour will be a convenient break for them, both personally and publicly.
In the preview for next week’s episode, you see Juliette asking him to sign divorce papers (and getting served), so that didn’t take long. Things are finally moving full steam ahead with the two divas after a very slow start, so things are getting interesting.
