If you have a partial-episode order with Canadian channel CTV, today might be your lucky day. The network has already handed out two full-season orders today.
Receiving orders today were 'Played,' an undercover cop drama from Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Film Productions, as well as 'Satisfaction,' a single-camera comedy from Tim McAuliffe (Up All Night, The Office).
Thirteen one-hour episodes were ordered for 'Played' which focuses on the Toronto-based Covert Investigations Unit that infiltrates criminal operations and tries to take them down from the inside. Instead of taking months and even years to make things happen, the CIU tries to wrap things up quickly - sometimes in a matter of mere days. Casting has not begun on the program yet, but production is scheduled to begin this spring in Toronto.
'Satisfication' already had a pilot ordered and this new deal has greenlit 12 more half-hour episodes. It stars Vic Sahay, Luke Macfarlane, Stephanie Lemelin, Ryan Belleville and Leah Renee. The series focues on a couple that rents out a room to a newly-single friend of theirs, who tries to learn from them what it takes to make a relationship work out. The show is developed by DHX Media.
