Earlier today news leaked out that Lifetime had signed Jesse McCartney to appear on its 'Army Wives' program. While 'Army Wives' is a pretty popular program with the network, apparently it is not enough wives for one single network.
Lifetime has announced that it is going to remake the BBC's 'Prisoners' Wives'. The program, a drama, will be done by Endemol Studios and will focus on four different women, each trying to survive with their men serving hard time.
Lifetime has hit a home run with 'Army Wives' and this show could very likely be just as big a success. That program is on its seventh season and has also added R&B star Ashanti to its roster.
The BBC version of 'Prisoner's Wives' was created by Julie Gearey and stars Polly Walker, Pippa Haywood (no, not Pippa), Natalie Gavin and Emma Rigby. Have any of our British viewers seen the show? Is it any decent.
Endemol Studios (which is part of Endemol USA) has TV experience, as it is behind AMC's 'Hell on Wheels' and the syndicated 'Steve Harvey' talk show. It also is behind upcoming AMC drama 'Low Winter Sun.'
Does this sound like a program you would like to watch?
