True American returning to 'New Girl,' now with stripping

“New Girl’s” fictitious drinking game is returning, and the stakes are higher.

The gang will play True American on an upcoming episode, but the ante has been upped to Strip True American.

Jess (Zooey Deschanel), Schmidt (Max Grenfield), Nick (Jake Johnson) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) will play the game, joined by potential love interests for the boys Daisy (Brenda Song) and Holly (Brooklyn Decker). Daisy will be with Winston, and Schmidt and Nick will be competing for Holly.

Johnson told TV Guide that there is a big development between Nick and Jess during the game, and the dynamic changes for the first time.

Johnson also said there are no rules to True American, which Jess once described as being 50 percent drinking game, 50 percent life- size Candy Land, for fans to learn. “We’ve made the new fake rules, yes. Every season that we're on — and hopefully that is a lot — there will be new developments to the game, because we all like doing it. It is fun to shoot. The writers like writing it, and True American has become a fun fake game."

“New Girl” is on Fox Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
