ABC won Wednesday's demos, while CBS had more total viewers.
ABC comedies The Middle and The Neighbors both went up by good margins. Modern Family also made big gains, dominating the competition as usual. Suburgatory also rose by half a point. Unfortunately, poor Nashville barely went up, and is still likely to be canceled.
As expected, the return of ABC's lineup brought NBC back down to Earth from last week, with Whitney and Guys With Kids both dropping big. Dick Wolf dramas Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Fire also dipped, but by smaller amounts.
CBS' I Get That A Lot dropped three tenths from its last new airing. The 2012 People's Choice Awards rose a bit from last January, but still got its butt kicked by Modern Family. FOX's much maligned special Stars in Danger: The High Dive drowned in the pool, coming in near the bottom of the pack for both the 8 and 9pm hours.
