What will the future hold for the characters of “Arrested Development,” now that the show is returning?
Jason Bateman gave MTV a preview of the lovable, de facto Bluth patriach Michael Bluth when the cult series returns this May.
"Michael has been a little banged up over the last six years and he's lost a little dignity and he's trying to get his life back together," Bateman said before the Golden Globes. "It's pretty good, he's a little bit more pathetic than the first go-round. Still wearing the same pants though."
The 14 new episodes will debut all at once on Netflix in May. Bateman said it’s not really a fourth season of the show; it’s more of a first act of a story a movie would finish.
"We start a story we don't finish until we're in the movie,” Bateman said. “They all work together, kind of like what they were going to do with Dark Tower or something. It's a hybrid package of entertainment."
Each of the new episodes apparently will focus on only a specific character, and the entire cast will appear together only once- in the finale. Only Michael Bluth will appear in all of the debuting episodes.
