A star of “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” will soon be “Under the Dome.”
Colin Ford will play Joe on the CBS summer drama, a teenager in a small New England town that suddenly gets sealed off by a dome.
The series is based on a 2009 Stephen King novel, in which residents in Chester’s Mill dealing with postapocalyptic conditions and searching for answers about the dome. Ford’s character is a smart kid and he understandably freaks out to discover his parents are both on the dome’s other side.
The drama will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television, and was picked up straight to series. Neal Baer, King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider and Brian K. Vaughan will exec produce. Vaughan also wrote the “Under the Dome” TV adaptation. Niels Arden Oplev will be the first episode’s director.
Ford has also appeared in “We Bought A Zoo,” “Push” and “Eye of the Hurricane.” He played a young Sam Winchester on “Supernatural” on the CW; did “Family Guy” and "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" voices; and appeared on “The Mob Doctor.”
“Under the Dome” is scheduled to premiere Monday, June 24, at 10 p.m.
