Here at TVRage we have reported quite extensively about the Lance Armstrong interview between the former Tour de France winner and Oprah Winfrey that will air this Thursday on OWN. The most recent update was uncovered yesterday evening when an individual who is close to the situation revealed that in Armstrong’s interview with Oprah he admits to having used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France. Although everyone pretty much suspected as much, it is a disappointment to hear it confirmed.
The interview with Oprah is being described as incredibly emotional at times, and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency chief executive Travis Tygart is calling the doping regimen that was used by the team that Armstrong lead “The most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen”.

Armstrong made a point to stop by the Livestrong Foundation, which he founded, before the interview to apologize to the staff members. The room of 100 staff members was reportedly brought to tears by his apology, and the source close to the story says that Armstrong apologized for letting down the staff and putting the foundation at risk but made no direct confession to using banned drugs when speaking to them.
After the conclusion of the interview, which took place in Armstrong’s home which was swarmed with local and international news crews, Oprah tweeted: “Just wrapped with @lancearmstrong More than 2 1/2 hours . He came READY!”
Are you going to watch Oprah’s tell-all interview with Lance Armstrong? Do you think he is truly sorry for what he has done?
