A rough few months for Piers Morgan got worse last night when he stepped into the lion's den and went head-to-head with the alpha male himself, Stephen Colbert.
Morgan was a guest on Comedy Central’s 'The Colbert Report,' where Colbert had a direct message for the British talk show host "Get the (expletive deleted) out of here!" I guess we know where Colbert comes down on the petition to get Piers deported.
During their conversation, Colbert needled Morgan, reminding him what happened more than 230 years ago when America laid the smack down in the Revolutionary War.
It was not all comedy though, as Morgan, who has become something of a gun control advocate following the incident in Newtown, Conn., said that, "In my country, where we have no guns, we have 35-40 gun murders a year; in your country, where you have 300 million guns, you have 11-12,000 gun murders a year. I think when 20 young children get blown to pieces, Americans should say something has to be done."
Colbert answered, saying that, "We need to take to time, reflect, and eventually forget, and then I think we won't have such a heated debate."
Did any of you catch Morgan's appearance? What did you think?
