Actress Rebecca Romijn, who you might recognize (or not recognize) as the woman who played Mystique in the “X-Men” series, will be headlining alongside Jon Tenney (“The Closer”) in a new TNT series. The series, which has yet to be titled, is based on popular characters created by author Dave Baldacci in five of his bestselling novels. Shane Brennan of “NCIS: LA” and Grant Anderson of “Third Watch” are executive producing, and Brennan also penned the pilot.
The series, which is described as a private eye drama, will star Romijn as Michelle Maxwell and Tenney will as Sean King, two former Secret Service operatives who have changed their line of work to private investigation. Maxwell, having being forced out of her previous position and King having lost his when the presidential candidate he was protecting was assassinated, both feel they have something to prove. The unique chemistry of the pair allows them to work together to gain advantages over suspects and solve crimes.
The TNT series will also include Michael O’Keefe (“Michael Clayton”) and Chris Butler (“The Good Wife”) as two FBI agents working alongside the duo, and Ryan Hurst (“Sons of Anarchy”) as a genius thinker who helps Maxwell and King solve cases (maybe a-la Spencer Reid of “Criminal Minds”?).
The series is set to premiere this summer and it seems like everything is ready and set to go – except the series title of course.
What do you think TNT should call their new private eye drama?
