One of the frequent guests on 'Chelsea Lately,' as well as other programs on the E! network, has used his popularity from those appearances as a springboard to a book deal under the A Chelsea Handler Book/Borderline Amazing imprint of Grand Central Publishing.
Ross Mathews, a comedian by trade, has written "MAN UP!: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence," his first book. It will contain a collection of personal stories and observations from Mathews, as well as a foreward by Gwyneth Paltrow (how did he land that?) and an afterword by 'Chelsea' herself, Chelsea Handler.
"Ross has been a friend of mine for 10 years and this book is hilariously sad, hilariously naïve and hilariously gay. I love this book,” Handler said.
Mathews got his break on 'The Tonight Show,' first appearing in 2001. He became a correspondent on the program, a position he maintains to this day. He is also rumored to be working on his own talk show for E!
“Not to totally toot my own tooter, but Man Up! is my greatest triumph since that summer vacation I spent memorizing every line in Steel Magnolias. Filled with every embarrassingly honest detail of my personal and professional milestones, reading Man Up! is like having an all-access pass to my private diary (only with less unicorn stickers),” Mathews said.
The book releases on May 7. Will you pick it up?
