Last night, Simon Cowell talked to reporters about his hit program on ITV, Britain's Got Talent. The show has seen a big challenge against it from the BBC's The Voice UK.
"They will be very competitive," he said, discussing the Voice UK. The show returns for its second season this spring, around the same time Britain's Got Talent returns. "I don't take anything for granted. It will rest on how good the talent is (as to what show does better)."
Britain's Got Talent faltered some in the ratings last season, losing some weeks to The Voice UK. As the season progessed, The Voice UK fell in ratings and Britain's Got Talent finished the year on top.
Simon was asked about America's Got Talent and said that he had no intention of appearing in front of the camera, saying that he liked doing Britain's Got Talent.
"The show's really become big around the world," he said. "I like doing one show here and one [X Factor] in the U.S."
Cowell announced that he would not be returning to the United Kingdom version of The X Factor and that the future of it, as well as its American counterpart, would be talked about soon.
"I would rule that out," he said, discussing rumors of a return to the U.K. version.
