A series starring a “Sopranos” star (and member of the E Street Band) is back for season two, and has added to its cast.
Netflix’s “Lilyhammer’s” second season is currently filming in Oslo and Lillehammer.
Steven van Zandt, who also exec produces, is there on break from his touring schedule with Bruce Springsteen.
Paul Kaye (“Game Of Thrones”), Erik Madsen (“Da Vinci’s Demons”), Amy Beth Hayes (“Mr. Selfridge”) and Jakob Oftebro (“Kon-Tiki”) have all been added to the cast.
‘Lilyhammer’ premiered in Norway in January 2012, and drew record numbers for network NRK1. It was the first original series to launch on Netflix when it debuted via the streaming service in the U.S., Canada and Latin America last February.
In season two Frank Tagliano (van Zandt’s mob fixer) is still in witness protection and juggling fatherhood and running his criminal operation. This season a group of English soccer hooligans; a bank robbery that threatens to reveal Tagliano’s identity; and a ferocious new female sheriff will have to be dealt with.
Eilif Skodvin and Anne Bjornstad are the showrunners; Anders Tangen is a producer;.and Lasse Halberg executive produces with van Zandt. Season two filing runs through April, at which time van Zandt goes back on tour.
