“My Name is Earl” is one of those series I was convinced I would hate when it came out. To be honest, I didn’t know much about it from the commercials, but it didn’t seem to me like smart television and I was hesitant to give it a shot. For those of you who were fans of the show, you should be happy to know that it crept up under my skin and planted itself there, quickly becoming a show I looked forward to every week.
The show has been off the air for about three years now, but luckily for us, “Raising Hope” is sharing a very Earl themed episode on February 26th, and the cast list is pretty much perfect. The episode is called “Making the Band”, so you can probably expect a fair amount of singing.
“Raising Hope” creator Greg Garcia was also the creator of “My Name is Earl”, and so having Camden county folk appear on his new show is not uncommon. In the very Earl saturated episode, we will see the return of Jason Lee (Earl) as the washed-up rock star Smokey Floyd. Jaime Pressly (Joy) with be joining Ethan Suplee (Randy) as Donna and Andrew, neighbours to Burt and Virginia. Eddie Steeples (Darnell) will be reprising his role as Tyler the Gas Man, and Nadine Velazquez (Catalina) will play a party-supply employee. Last but not least, the reunion will be rounded off with Abdoulaye N’Gom (Nescobar-A-Lop-Lop) playing an airline pilot.
