We're a little over two months out from the long-awaited third season premiere of HBO's crown jewel of a series, Game of Thrones. The fantasy series, which we last saw in June, returns on March 31 for its ten-episode third season, which promises to be its most exciting yet (no, really). Already, HBO's PR team is mounting a big marketing push for the third season. On Friday, they released a slew of new character photos from the new season, giving us a look at some characters both old and new. Let's take a look:
Here's Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), sporting a new scar across his face as a result of the Battle of Blackwater last season. He's gonna have a rough year.

Next up, it's the despicable King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), who is entertaining his new betrothed -- King Renly's former wife, Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer). Of course, he's teaching her a violent pasttime. Let's hope Sansa's not on the other end of that crossbow bolt.
Nope, here's Sansa (Sophie Turner), looking relatively hopeful at that. It's a new look for her.

Here's another new addition to King's Landing -- Olenna Redwyne (Margaery's grandmother), played by Dame Diana Rigg. She's also known as the Queen of Thorns, and she has more tricks up her sleeve than you might expect.
And here's the wildling woman Ygritte (Rose Leslie), with whom Jon Snow (Kit Harington) might be getting a little close this season:

And here's Jon, still dressed in his Night's Watch garb:

Jon will be having to deal with the King Beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds), who might not take too kindly to a Brother of the Night's Watch entering his camp.

Here's a new character: Bryden "Blackfish" Tully (Clive Russell). He's Catelyn Stark's brother, and he's a fan favorite character from the book series. You can bet he'll get some cool scenes this season.

Here's Catelyn (Michelle Fairley).

Here's Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick), a new character who will be helping Bran Stark flee the chaotic battlefield that the North has become.

And here's her brother, Jojen (Thomas Sangster).
