The Olympics may have ended quite a few months ago, but ABC (and Fox, but this story is not about their show) are committed to keeping diving front-and-center on your television sets.
ABC has revealed that its celebrity diving series will be called Splash and will premiere on Tuesday, March 19. In addition to the name, the network has also revealed the cast members who will be diving off the 10-meter high dive board, as well as teaming up for synchronized stunts and other aquatic feats.
Louie Anderson (WHAT???) Drake Bell, Chuy Bravo, Nicole Eggert, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Detroit Lion defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (WHAT? Part 2) and Kendra Wilkinson will be among the competitors, who are trained and judged by Greg Louganis.
Also announced in the cast is Katherine Webb, the girlfriend of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback and Miss Alabama. Webb became famous when commentator Brent Musburger complimented her beauty during the telecast, drawing criticism from the internet.
Two more competitors will be announced in the coming weeks.
That cast does nothing for me. That is a whole lot of C-level celebrity there, with Anderson and Suh there for the novelty of having larger men doing these events. I am stunned the series could not land any bigger name stars than this.
