Everyone's favorite lovable doctor from 'Scrubs' may be playing a doctor again; Sarah Chalke will be appearing on the hit ABC series 'Grey's Anatomy' in the Springtime.
'Grey's Anatomy' is still going--it's presently in its ninth season, joining an elite class for primetime dramas. Sarah Chalke played Dr. Elliot Reed on 'Scrubs' for an impressive 173 episodes and is getting to showcase her talents on ABC a few weeks ahead of the debut of her upcoming comedy series. On April 3, Chalke will star in 'How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life),' a multi-camera format sitcom, also on ABC.
No word as of yet on what character Chalke will be playing in her 'Grey's Anatomy' appearance; given the fact that she is slated to guest on a single episode, odds are that she will play a patient in the
hospital rather than a doctor. It would be a nice wink to 'Scrubs' fans to put the blonde bombshell back into, well, her scrubs for a single episode.
Chalke has been bouncing around various television series since 'Scrubs' went off the air, appearing in nine episodes of 'How I Met Your Mother,' starring in 'Mad Love,' and recurring in four episodes of 'Cougar Town.' Chalke is nothing if not versatile and the fact that she has yet another series pilot coming down the chute shows that producers are aware of her comedic timing and affable charm. Not unlike Julia Louis-Dreyfus' career, Chalke is now striving to recreate the success of the series that made her a household name.
Chalke's appearance on 'Grey's Anatomy' is slated for early March; 'How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)' debuts on ABC on April 3.
