Do you remember Criss Angel, the illusionist who seemed to have the ability to defy the very laws of physics? I do - barely. It seemed like his 15 minutes of fame were almost complete following the end of his A&E series, Criss Angel: Mindfreak, after a five year run.
But Spike TV has decided to pull Angel off the scrapheap and give him a second chance at television.
The two will team up for an 11-episode series that will bring all new illusions into your homes, as well as what the network calls "apparent supernatural abilities." Is Angel the Blair Witch?!
Each episode will be one hour in length and will show Angel trying to do "demonstrations" that have never been done before. He will bring viewers behind the curtain, explaining what he is doing and showing them the creative process that goes into his performances.
Spike says that each show will show "mind-blowing magic, the supernatural, death-defying escapes and astonishing physical stunts that will challenge the very laws of nature."
Sharon Levy, a executive vice president with the network, talked about the new deal.
"Spike is thrilled to be able to showcase the amazing talents of Criss Angel, a perfect fit for our evolving adult brand. Criss has grown immeasurably as an artist and we are excited to give our viewers never-before-granted access into the inner-workings of his secret world and his mind,” she said.
What do you think?
To quote a Supernatural episode title: Criss Angel is a douchebag.
