This Sunday is the Super Bowl (had you not heard?). The game will feature the San Francisco 49ers competing with the Baltimore Ravens for the National Football League's Lombardi Trophy and the right to be called world champions.
While most of America prepares to watch the game and be gluttonous (chicken wings, here I come!), other networks are stuck with the unfortunate task of counter programing the biggest ratings dominator of the year. One of the shows that will be affected by the game is HBO's Girls.
The program will be moved from its normal Sunday time slot and premiere a day eariler, on Saturday, February 2 at 10:05 p.m. EST. It will be rebroadcast on Sunday, February 3 at 9 p.m. EST as well.
The episode, "It's A Shame About Ray," will focus on an uncomfortable dinner party that Hannah (series creator and writer Lena Dunham) hosts.
The episode can be seen on OnDemand already.
Will this change anyone's plans to watch the episode? I am being drug through the first season by my wife and have to admit that it is not as bad as I feared it was going to be. There is a quote from the Lonely Island's Jorma Taccone in the third (I think it was the third) episode that made me laugh out loud - a rarity. Have you seen Girls?
