Fox in negotiations for 50 Cent animated comedy

Rapper/artist/actor 50 Cent

Raise your hand if you also completely forgot about rapper/artist 50 Cent. Admittedly, I don’t know much about the rap music industry, but I feel like this guy fell way off the radar – enough that all I can really recall about him are videos with scantily clad women and candy shops. A quick search tells me that he has a new album coming out in February of 2013 – the ten year anniversary of his debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’”.

Mr. Cent (I feel like just referring to him as “Cent” or “50” is much too casual) has piqued the attention of Fox, who are currently in negotiations to produce a pilot of the rappers animated comedy project. The project, which is yet to be titled, will be loosely based on Mr. Cent’s childhood. If you recall, 50 Cent released an autobiographical film in 2005 called “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” which chronicled his life and served as his first acting gig. I assume the Fox comedy will be much more light-hearted and involve a lot less guns.

The pilot is written by Carl Jones, and it follows “a mischievous but well-meaning boy who often tangles with his eccentric family and neighbourhood”.

Do you have any interest in the un-named 50 Cent pilot?
