“Survivor” producers have to regularly beat back a crowd of previous players trying to scratch and claw their way back on to the reality game show, but there are still some “Survivor” alums that would never go on the show again – not for a million bucks.
“Survivor Caramoan – Fans vs. Favorites” is returning on February 13th, and 10 previous players are coming back to the show to battle against lucky fans like you and me. Last season’s golden boy Malcolm, and Gabon contestant Corrine Kaplan are among some of the returning faces, but what about those who were asked to return but simply couldn’t be convinced?

Host Jeff Probst says that there were two people they really wanted back on the show this season. “There’s two people we wanted back,” says Probst. “Matt from Redemption Island we would have been interested in, but he is just done with it. I think it was enough for him. And Shambo has basically said, ‘I never want to do it again.’ We would have loved her as well. But in both cases I think their story is similar in that they don’t want Survivor to define their life and they feel like once was enough. And that’s it.”
A lot of fans are also wondering if “Survivor: Phillipines” fan favorite Lisa Whelchel will be back on the show anytime soon considering the fast turnaround experienced by Malcolm. “Lisa isn’t somebody you would bring back right off the bat,” says Probst. “She’s a mom with a personal life. Malcolm is a single guy with no attachments.” Probst also hinted to not hold our breath for the return of Whelchel at all. “I would love to see Lisa Whelchel play again,” says Probst. “But I would be very surprised if she did.”
Are you as excited as I am to see “Survivor” return this month? Who would be part of your dream cast for “Survivor Caramoan – Fans vs. Favorites”?
