Odette Annable to appear as love interest on 'New Girl'

“New Girl” fans may have to wait a bit longer for Jess and Nick to finally get together.

Odette Annable (“House, M.D.”) will play a love interest for Nick (played by Jake Johnson) in an upcoming arc.

Annable will play Shane, Nick’s new boss at the bar. Shane is a “perky and preppy management school grad,” who “unabashedly” begins her flick with employee Nick.

The Jess (played by Zooey Deschanel) and Nick storyline has been the Fox comedy’s equivalent of “The Office’s” Jim and Pam slow- burn romance. The two shared a kiss at the end of last week’s episode, but with Jess taken and Nick apparently taking up with a new lady, it will probably be awhile before that progresses.

Annable appeard on “Brothers & Sisters,” where she met future husband Dave Annable. Other credits include short- lived Fox comedy “Breaking In,” “October Road” and “South Beach.” She was also one of the cute kids in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s class in “Kindergarten Cop” (appearing as Odette Yustman).

Annable will also soon appear in an arc on “Banshee” on Cinemax as a Native American hitwoman.

“New Girl” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
