Katie Couric is quickly becoming the go-to person for dealing with college football scandals. Who would have ever imagined that?
Two weeks ago, Couric did the first on-camera with Notre Dame star linebacker Manti Te'o after his world was turned upside down by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the man who "catfish'ed" him. Now Couric has landed an exclusive interview with Sue Paterno, the widow of legendary Penn State Nittany Lions football coach Joe Paterno, who was forced to resign from his position as head coach after the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal spiraled out of control.
Paterno passed away not long after resigning, in January 2011. He remained in State College, Pa., after resigning, refusing to be forced from the community he loved and lived in for more than 50 years.
Couric's sit-down with Sue was taped at the Paterno's home in State College. The interview is the first that Sue has given since her husband's death.
For his crimes, Sandusky has been sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison. He was convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.
The interview is scheduled to air on February 11 on Katie. Sue is expected to also appear in studio with Couric during the airing of the interview. Will you be watching?
