The CBS “Beverly Hills Cop” reboot continues to build its cast.

Kevin Pollak will play Rodney Daloof, the BHPD’s in- house lawyer who is a stickler for the rules and a bit of a loud mouth.
The reboot is expected to be a continuation of the film series. The pilot centers on Aaron Foley (played by Brandon T. Jackson), son of Axel and also a police officer. Murphy will appear on the pilot and, if its goes to series, could recur.
The series, if picked up, would be a police procedural sprinkled with comedy.
“The Shield’s” Shawn Ryan and Eddie Murphy (who played Axel in the movies, of course) and Marney Hochman (Ryan’s Middkid Productions partner) are producing the pilot, with Ryan writing.
Pollak and Jackson carry on a tradition of former stand- ups for the franchise, following in Murphy’s footsteps.
Jackson has also appeared in “Tropic Thunder,” “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son “ and “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.”
Pollak has also appeared in “A Few Good Men,” “Casino” and “The Usual Suspects.” He lately has been hosting an online interview show.
Pollak is represented by Buchwald/ Fortitude and Evolution.
