It’s a good week for Hollywood’s Annables.

Earlier this week, Odette Annable (“House MD,” “Banshee”) booked an arc on Fox’s “New Girl.” Now her husband has gotten in on the action, signing on to play a title role in “Joe, Joe and Jane” on NBC, from “New Girl” producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman.
The semi- autobiographical comedy focuses on Joe Waxman, a children’s book author being pulled every which way by his wife, Jane (played by Sally Pressman, “Army Wives”), and his co- author and best friend Joe Dougan (played by Annable).
Annable appeared on ABC’s “666 Park Avenue,” a horror soap that did not last long. He also appeared on “Brothers & Sisters” (where he met future wife Odette), and “Reunion.” He was also cast to appear on the recently- canceled “Ben and Kate” on Fox, but it’s unclear whether that episode was filmed or will see the light of day.
Joe Dougan is described as a ladies man. Former “Daily Show” correspondent Larry Wilmore will play Jane’s stepfather therapist who is recently divorced.
Mark Cendrowski (“Big Bang Theory”) will direct the pilot.
Dave Annable is represented by CAA and Sue Leibman at Barking Dog Entertainment.
