A familiar face has been cast on “American Horror Story’s” third season.

Taissa Farmiga played Violet in season 1 of the FX drama. After not appearing on season two, which was set in a different time than the first, she will be integral in the new season’s romance.
Violet and Tate’s budding romance was one of the big stories in season one, which also starred Dylan McDermott (“The Practice,” “Dark Blue”) and Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights,” “Nashville”).
Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe, who all appeared in both seasons, are back on board for season three.
The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Season one centered on a family moving into a restored mansion haunted by its past tenants. Season two took place in 1964 in an instituition for the criminally insane.
Farmiga is starring with Emma Watson in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming drama “The Bling Ring.” She also recently wrapped up production on “Mindscape.” Farmiga got her start appearing in “Higher Ground,” her sister Vera Farmiga’s directing debut. She played her sister’s character’s 16- year- old self.
Farmiga is represented by ICM Partners and Authentic.
