Primetime Ratings, Thursday, 2/7/13

Once again, the powerhouse known as CBS Thursday laid the smackdown on all who opposed it.

The Big Bang Theory roared back from its sizable dip last week, rising nearly a whole point. Lead-out Two and a Half Men rode this wave to a three tenths bump as well. The ever reliable Person Of Interest matched last week. Elementary also rose a bit.

American Idol continues to dip, falling four tenths. Glee managed to rise a little from its huge fall last week though. On ABC, Grey's Anatomy climbed up three tenths, while Scandal matched its previous season high. Scandal is looking very likely to be renewed for a third season at this point.

The big story of the night belonged to NBC, and for once it was a positive development. The oft-delayed fourth season premiere of Community finally hit the airwaves Thursday, with the Greendale gang posting a 1.8 demo, which is quite good for a comedy on NBC nowadays. The number was up 6% from last fall's premiere, and a whopping 38% from last May's finale. If these numbers keep up, we may yet see those six seasons and a movie.

Parks & Rec followed this up by rising 18%, and The Office held steady. The Peacock's night wasn't all good though, as 1600 Penn fell 15% to a series low. This presidency will definitely not be winning a second term. Also, Do No Harm fell another 22% from last week's worst network premiere ever. If any cancellation was ever a foregone conclusion, this would be it. Finally, The CW had a down evening, with the Vampire Diaries and Beauty and The Beast both dropping around 15%.
