FX's neo-western series Justified is currently in the middle of its fourth season, which is potentially shaping up to be its best yet. With a unique storyline featuring a mystery instead of a villain, and plenty of great acting and writing to go around, the season has been a consistently exciting one.
This weekend, I got an opportunity to discuss the season with David Meunier, the actor who plays Boyd's scheming cousin Johnny. Meunier was a guest on Huffington Post Live, and I was one of the people who got to ask him questions about the season. You can watch the full interview here.
Meunier's a pretty interesting guy -- did you know he had six college degrees? -- and while his answers to my questions didn't provide too much of a hint toward what was coming next, they did provide some intriguing looks at the rest of the season. While of course this season isn't centered around a central bad guy like previous years, Meunier argued that there wouldn't even be a primary antagonist for the season -- the central force would be the mysterious Drew Thompson, who Raylan and Boyd are both desperate to find for very different reasons. I also talked with Meunier about his uncertainty over his character's future -- after all, everyone else who has gone up against Boyd (season 3's Devil, anybody?) has met with a gruesome fate.
He also shared that he'd love to see Tommy Lee Jones as a guest star on the series -- a prospect that made me flash back to 'No Country for Old Men' and realize how fantastically Jones would fit in. Should fans mount a campaign for this to happen, or what?
Again, you can check out the full interview with Meunier here, courtesy of Huffington Post Live.
The next episode of Justified, the punningly named "Foot Chase," airs Tuesday, February 12 at 10/9c on FX.
