A “Twilight” director has signed on for a CBS drama pilot that, like Ricky Bobby from "Talladega Nights," is borderline- reckless.

Catherine Hardwicke will direct “Reckless,” a legal soap exec produced by Ian Sander and Kim Moses (“Ghost Whisperer”).
“Reckless” is a legal show set in Charleston, South Carolina. A Yankee litigator and a southern city attorney clash over a police sex scandal while trying to hide their attraction to each other.
The show will be produced by CBS TV Studios.
Although Hardwicke has only directed AMC’s “Hell on Wheels” for TV before, she did the first “Twilight” film, Amanda Seyfried vehicle “Red Riding Hood,” skateboarding film “Lords of Dogtown,” biblical film “The Nativity Story” and upcoming “Plush.”
Hardwicke also worked as a production designer on films such as “Tombstone,” “Tank Girl” and “Three Kings.” Hardwicke also collaborated with director/ screenwriter Cameron Crowe and actor/ producer Tom Cruise on 2001’s “Vanilla Sky.” She also co- wrote “Thirteen” with the film’s co- star Nikki Reed.
Female directors have done well this pilot season in dramas. aPatty Jenkins helms ABC’s “Betrayal” and Lesli Linka Glatter directs CBS’ “Anatomy of Violence.”
