'Masters of Sex' adds "Lovely Bones" actress

McIver. How does one become a Master of Sex? I want to know for a .... a friend of mine. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Maybe I should ask Rose McIver. The actress, best known for her work in "The Lovely Bones," has joined the upcoming Showtime drama as a recurring character. She will play Vivian Scully, who is the daughter of university chancellor Barton Scully (played by Beau Bridges).

The series is based on Thomas Maier's book "Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Live." Oscar nominee John Madden will direct the series premiere, with production scheduled to begin this March in New York City.

Masters of Sex stars Michael Sheen (as Masters) and Lizzy Caplan (as Johnson) and will premiere this September. Masters and Johnson are famous for the exploration of human sexuality and the science behind it. Their work helped the sexual revolution take hold.

McIver has also appeared on Predicament and Light Years, as well as CSI; Crime Scene Investigation.

Masters of Sex will premiere following the season premiere of Homeland's third season.

Does Masters of Sex appeal to you? I think the content could be really interesting, but I am unsure if the series is going to have sustained life.
