Liev Schreiber is one of the best actors of our generation (in my opinion). It seems like he is missing out on that one role that will bring him to the next level of stardom though and make him a household name.
Could that role be the lead in Showtime's upcoming drama Ray Donovan? The network certainly is begind the series, as they will premiere it immediately after the Dexter premieres its final (maybe) season on June 30.
While Schreiber will be playing the series lead, as "fixer" Ray Donovan who solves problems for the wealthy elite in Los Angeles, the series has added Frank Whaley to play Van Miller, an FBI agent who investigates illegal activities in Orange County and finds himself going head-to-head with Donovan.
Whaley, who has appeared in "Field of Dreams," "Pulp Fiction," "World Trade Center," and "JFK," will be a recurring part of the cast on the series.
Other cast members include Jon Voight, Brooke Smith, Paula Malcomson, Dash Mihok, Katherine Moenning, Pooch Hall and Eddie Marsan.
Below is a trailer for the series. Are you going to check Ray Donovan out? Can it fill the hole that Dexter will (may) be creating? I think it looks fantastic myself.
Hadn't heard of it, but I do like the trailer.
