This last week, actor Patrick Wilson appeared on HBO's Girls, in the episode titled "One Man's Trash."
His character in the episode, Joshua (not Josh) and Hannah (played by series creator/writer/actress Lena Dunham) spent a few emotional days together. Joshua, a recently-separated doctor, invited Hannah into his home where, upon her request, he begged her to stay. Sounds awkward, no?
"It felt as awkward as it looks," Wilson said of the experience. "I think we’ve all had those moments ... It reminded me of my twenties. It is just awkward and weird ... It is the awkwardness of a real human emotion in real relationships. If you look back on the breakups that you’ve had, whether it’s a long relationship or a one-night stand, it’s always awkward ... It’s always ugly and awkward, and that’s what I loved about that scene."
I wonder if he loved what happened next. Eventually the duo ended up playing Ping-Pong...naked Ping-Pong.
"I’m not going to lie: Lena’s not good at Ping-Pong. She’s good at a lot of things, but not Ping-Pong," he added. "It’s part of the charm, as we say."
Last year, Dunham talked about Wilson's guest starring turn, saying that, "He's hot as ... I want to say something classy but all I can come up with is he's hot as f***. And he is a very nice person too. And a devoted father, which is such a sexy quality."
Did you see the episode? What did you think?
