“The Killing” has been through some tumultuous changes on its television path. Originally airing on AMC, the network cancelled the show after two seasons. The series was then offered up to Netflix and various other outlets to see if they were interested. After Netflix expressed their interest, it seemed that AMC got a change of heart and they jumped back on board with the show. The network and the studio agreed to some concessions and here we are now with the show casting new faces for season three.
Peter Sarsgaard has an impressive big-screen acting career. Sarsgaard has been in movies such as “Jarhead”, “Knight and Day”, “Green Lantern” and more, but his television career is not quite as developed. His role in the upcoming season three of “The Killing” will be the actors’ very first regular television appearance. Sarsgaard will play the role of Tom Seward who is described as “a death row inmate for whom the clock is ticking down. A lifelong convict born into poverty and crime, Seward’s been in and out of the system for violent crimes since he was 10. Not ever wanting to appear weak, every interaction is a challenge, and one he must dominate.”
Season three of “The Killing” has yet to be given a premiere date, but the official series description is available. “A year after closing the Rosie Larsen case, Sarah Linden is no longer a detective. But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder’s search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she’d left behind.”
Will you be tuning in for season three of “The Killing”? Do you think Sarsgaard will fit in well with the rest of the cast?
