Ryan Seacrest is putting on his dancing shoes.

The American Idol host has received a six- episode series order for “Montecito,” an unscripted effort.
The hour- long episodes take place in Montecito, California, where some of the richest women in the world dwell. The men who fulfill their dreams aren’t their husbands; it’s their ballroom dancing instructors, working- class men looking to advance their status, but how far will they go for their clients?
The docu- series will let viewers get to know these dancing couples. It is produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions. Adam Sher, RSP CEO, and Seacrest will exec produce along with Generate’s Jordan Levin, Robert B. Levin and Hilda Keenan Wynn, and A&E’s David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Lily Neumeyer.
“Montecito” is part of an expanding portfolio at RSP, which includes E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” and its thousands of spinoffs, and also Bravo’s “Shahs of Sunset,” E!’s “Married to Jonas” and the upcoming “The Wanted Life” docuseries on E!.
Ryan Seacrest Productions is also moving into scripted fare and film efforts. It has “Mixology,” an ABC comedy pilot, and romantic comedy “My Husband’s Wife” written by Krista Vernoff set up at Universal.
