Felicity Huffman has bounced back, following her stint on “Desperate Housewives.”
Huffman will play an assassin in “Boomerang” on Fox.
“Boomerang” will show a family business just like any other, except for the fact the family executes hits for the government as assassins. Huffman plays Margie Hamiliton, the matriarch of the clan. She’s a pro who can take out a terrorist, get rid of the body, then be home with the husband and kids at night.
Davey Holmes (“Shameless,” “Awake”) will write the pilot for Warner Bros. Television. Holmes, John Wells and Andrew Stearn will executive produce. Craig Brewer (“Hustle and Flow”) will direct and is also called an executive producer on the pilot’s credits.
Huffman was nominated for an Oscar and received a Golden Globe for her role in “Transamerica” in 2005, which was about a transsexual woman. She also received two Emmy nominations for her role as Lynette Scavo on “Desperate Housewives,” and took one home in 2005. She appeared on the ABC soap for eight season.
Huffman’s husband William H. Macy also stars in a drama produced by Wells; that being “Shameless” on Showtime.
Huffman is represented by CAA.
