Tom Everett Scott, alum of 'Southland' and feature films like 'Dead Man on Campus,' has joined the growing and impressive cast of NBC's upcoming pulp action thriller 'Bloodline' as the father of the protagonist.
Scott is listed as the "biological dad" of the protagonist Bird Benson (played by Skyler Samuels, whose real name is just as silly as the character's); considering the series is entitled 'Bloodline,' Bird's parentage will likely be very important. Scott will play Dr. Christopher Benson, a beloved ER physician at a suburban hospital who’s known for his charm and dedication to his patients. The problem? In a moment of weakness years ago, Benson had an affair with one of his patients... resulting in a pregnancy and the birth of Bird. What else? As it turns out, Bird (and Benson himself) is descended from a long line of warrior assassins, killers and mercenaries. Hell of a birthright.
Now, Benson wishes to get to know his teenaged daughter, which causes friction with Bird's adoptive father. Oh, and, small detail: Bird's adoptive father is a deadly martial arts master and potential killer. Now a part of Bird's action-packed life, Benson will have to test
his abilities as a physician to treat the many injured adversaries that Bird leaves in her wake. That pesky Hippocratic Oath, eh doc?
Recently, KaDee Strickland joined the cast of 'Bloodline' as Bird's samurai-sword-wielding mother. That should be fun.
Recently Scott has been a recurring guest star on the series 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'Law & Order' and 'ER.'
Sounds absolutely absurd.........but 'll give it a try nonetheless.......
