A “Mad Men” actress will play the lead in a CW adaptation of a cult British series.

Peyton List will appear in drama pilot “The Tomorrow People,” which will be written/ executive produced by Phil Klemmer and exec produced by Julie Plec and Greg Berlanti.
Danny Cannon will direct and also executive produce.
“The Tomorrow People” is similar to “The X-Men” and “Heroes.” It revolves around young people from all over the world who are the next stage in humans’ evolution. They have special powers, such as teleportation and telepathic communication. These special people work together to defeat evil forces.
List will play the female member of “The Tomorrow People” named Cara. She possesses a sense of humor under an otherwise serious demeanor, and also appears trustworthy.
List had a recurring role as Jane Sterning on “Mad Men” on AMC. She was a co- star on “FlashForward” on ABC, appeared on “Big Shots,” and had a recurring role on the CW’s “90210” recently.
Klemmer wrote for “Chuck,” “Veronica Mars” and mini- series “Political Animals.” Danny Cannon has exec produced “CSI: NY,” “The Forgotten” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”
