'X Factor' firing Khloe Kardashian?

Khloe Kardashian -- you just got X'ed!

Maybe.

The New York Post has learned that the co-host of Fox's "The X Factor" may be out of a job when the show returns for its third season.

An insider told the Post, "They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe." Ouch.

The reality star had no previous experience in a hosting capacity, and it certainly showed -- next to the more seasoned Lopez, Kardashian often appeared nervous and unprepared for her on air role.

Kardashian was part of a major on-camera overhaul of the popular Fox series, as Lopez and Kardashian were brought on board along with new judge Britney Spears. If the exit rumors are true, the lead-up to the show's new season could be just as tumultuous as the last. It was already confirmed that judges L.A. Reid would be leaving along with Spears, both opting to focus on their career endeavors outside the show.

"I am sure there was a big percentage of Khloe’s fans who followed her to 'X Factor,'" said hosting expert Marki Costello, who has provided on-camera coaching for "Voice" judge Cee Lo Green among others. "But at the end of the day, when she doesn’t know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it? It was really hard for me to watch Mario with her. It made me, as a viewer, almost uncomfortable."
