South African model Reeva Steenkamp recently became a household name, in a terrible way. She was murdered on Valentine's Day, at the home of her boyfriend, Olympian Oscar Pistorius, who was better known as "Blade Runner" and "The Fastest Man on No Legs." Pistorius has been charged with the murder, as the story that has circulated is that he thought Steenkamp was an intruder. However, some evidence seems to put this into question and make the whole thing seem more sinister.
In a tragic twist to this story, Steenkamp's TV debut aired two days after her death (as it was scheduled). Tropika Island of Treasure was filmed in Jamaica last year and showed the model swimming with dolphins and blowing a kiss to the camera.
"I don't have any regrets. .... I think the way that you go out, not just your journey in life, but the way that you go out -- you make your exit -- is so important," she said in the video. "You either made an impact in a positive way or a negative way. But just maintain integrity and maintain class."
She was shot four times in the incident. Pistorius will appear before a judge tomorrow for a bail hearing.
What a terrible story.
