We're a little over a month away from the third season premiere of HBO's Game of Thrones, but it's already starting to dominate the pop culture conversation once again. Today marked the release of the second season on DVD and Blu-ray, while star Peter Dinklage has been in the news for recently being cast in a mysterious role for the upcoming film 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.' Now, actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the series, has gotten her own GQ spread and interview.
There are plenty of revealing photos (although she doesn't bare nearly as much here as she does on the show itself, and a few tidbits of Clarke discussing where she thinks the series is going.
One of the best quotes comes when she expresses fear of the HBO series catching up with the source material, a series of novels released at a frustratingly deliberate pace. "Don't let us catch up with you George!," she jokingly warned author George R.R. Martin. "Or, you know, we could just skip to me sitting on the throne. I win!"
You can read the rest of the interview (in which she references her love for HBO's Girls and AMC's Breaking Bad -- and see the rest of the photos of Clarke, if that's your thing (of course it's your thing) -- in this month's issue of GQ.
Game of Thrones season 3 premieres March 31 on HBO. Will you be tuning in?
