Cameron Diaz has been replaced.

Ari Graynor will play Diaz’s character in the “Bad Teacher” CBS pilot.
The single- camera adaptation of the 2011 feature focuses on Meredith Davis (played by Diaz in the movie, now by Graynor), a profane divorcee who went into education looking for a husband.
David Alan Grier (“In Living Color”) will play the well- meaning but clueless principal Carl Gaines fooled by Meredith’s guiles. The role was portrayed by John Michael Higgins in the Columbia Pictures film.
The recently- divorced Gaines is uncomfortably living in an apartment where he's forced to cook for himself. He is also involved in a support group he created for other divorcees.
Hillary Winston (“Community”) will write the script and exec produce along with Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (both “Bad Teacher” screenwriters).
Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller will also exec produce.
Graynor had multiple offers for high- profile comedies this pilot season.
Graynor has appeared in features “The Guilt Trip,” “For a Good Time, Call…” and “Celeste & Jesse Forever.” She had done voice roles on the Seth MacFarlane triumvirate “American Dad,” “The Cleveland Show” and “Family Guy.” She played Rachel/ Kelsie on “Fringe” and played Caitlin Rucker on “The Sopranos” on HBO.
Graynor is represented by UTA, Principal Entertainment and Lichter Grossman.
