It seems like today is the day that former Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 stars move on to new, potentially brighter vehicles.
Earlier we told you about how Angelique Cabral had Enlisted for a new Fox comedy that will see her serving in the Army. Now the actor who played the greatest back-up quarterback in West Canaan, Texas, history is moving on to a "better" life.
James Van Der Beek, best known for his work on Dawson's Creek, has landed the starring role on CBS' new comedy Friends with Better Lives. The series will look at the lives of a group of thirty something friends who are envious of one another's lives. The series is being developed by Friends writer/producer Dana Klein.
Van Der Beek, who last played a fictionalized version of himself on ABC's recently cancelled Apartment 23, will now play Will Stokes, a partner at a gynecology clinic (which serves as the center of the potential series). Stokes is intelligent, sarcastic and cynical. His wife cheated on him with a therapist who takes no prisoners, leading to Stokes always expecting the other shoe to drop.
Krysten Ritter, the star of Apartment 23, has also moved on, as she has landed a role on NBC's Assistance.
Will you be following Van Der Beek to CBS?
