The news keeps coming for Game of Thrones season 3. The HBO series, which returns at the end of March, has been on a major PR kick this week, as you can see here. With the season 3 trailer slated to make its world premiere tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live, you'd think that HBO would take a break with its marketing push. That's not the case, though -- the first poster for season 3 has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly, and you can check it out below.
It features the shadow of a flying dragon, one of Daenerys's (Emilia Clarke) trio. While the shadow looks a little bigger than I would expect Daenerys's dragons to be at this point, at least the poster seems to indicate that we'll be hearing less cries of "Where are my dragons?!" this year.
It's certainly a simple poster, and I can see the poster's attempt to be striking. But I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. It doesn't look nearly as iconic as those for the previous two seasons, and it barely leaves an impression. It might not be the only key art for the season (here's hoping), although Entertainment Weekly seems to be under the impression that it is.
You can check out the poster below, and let us know your thoughts on it in the comments section below.
Game of Thrones season 3 will premiere Sunday, March 31 on HBO.
